Every year, new fashion trends emerge for the upcoming season — first appearing on the runways (unattainable for most of us) and later in the streets. In fact, a trend in fashion is a style expressed through clothing and accessories during a specific period of time. Whether to follow fashion or not depends on each person’s desire and budget.
These trends, reflected by major textile brands, are characterized among other things by their seasonal colors. And in this case, Pantone —the company that created the system for identifying, comparing, and communicating color for graphic arts— announces each year the trending colors that will be seen in the spring-summer and autumn-winter seasons. That’s how we can spot the fashion colors in clothing, accessories, home décor, magazines… and even in Nortap® silicone plugs for barrels!
Because trends have no boundaries, and 21st-century wineries are not only places where the best wines are crafted but also spaces designed for visual and sensory enjoyment. Spaces renewed by world-renowned architects who elevate wineries and turn them into tourist attractions. Visitors no longer come just to taste fine wines inside the cellars but also to appreciate the architecture itself.
Throughout Spain, there are many examples of wineries designed by prestigious architects, such as López de Heredia Viña Tondonia (Zaha Hadid), Marqués de Riscal (Frank Gehry), Protos (Richard Rogers & Partners and Alonso Balaguer & Associates), Señor de Arínzano (Rafael Moneo) and Ysios (Santiago Calatrava).
Just as every winemaker carefully selects the wood for their barrels (French, American, Caucasian oak…), the same applies to silicone plugs, which not only ensure nothing goes in or out during the wine aging process but can also look elegant and become a natural extension of the winery’s visual identity.
